Adding New Bookmarks

WebCD Globe Adding New Bookmarks

The various ways of adding new bookmarks are covered below.

Menu

1 In the Bookmarks View, select the folder in which you wish to add the new document(s) (or the WebCD Bookmarks item if you want to add the folder at the top level).
2 On the File menu, point to New and then click Bookmark. The New Bookmark dialog appears.
3 Enter the desired name for the bookmark in the Bookmark Name text box. This is the label that will appear for the document in the Bookmarks View.
4 Enter the URL of the document. The URL for the document currently displayed in the Browser View is the default address.
5 Select the link type:
WebCD (Link to the document on the CD-ROM) or
Live-Link (Link to the document on the Web).
6 Select OK to add the new document(s) to the Bookmarks View.

Shortcut Menu

1 Point to a folder in the Bookmarks View and click on the right mouse button. The shortcut menu appears, allowing you to select the most frequently used commands for that item.
2 Highlight New and then Bookmark to access the New Bookmark dialog.
3 Enter the desired name for the bookmark in the Bookmark Name text box. This is the label that will appear for the document in the Bookmarks View.
4 Enter the URL of the document. The URL for the document currently displayed in the Browser View is the default address.
5 Select the link type:
WebCD (Link to the document on the CD-ROM) or
Live-Link (Link to the document on the Web).
6 Select OK to add the new document(s) to the Bookmarks View.

Toolbar

Click the Add Bookmark button from the Browser toolbar.

If the URL for this page is already in the Retrieval View:

A WebCD link to the page is created if the URL is marked for retrieval

A Live-Link to the page is created if the URL is marked Do Not Retrieve.

If the URL for this page is not already in the Retrieval View, it is added to the Retrieval View and marked as Do Not Retrieve, and a Live-Link to this page is added in the Bookmarks View. Use the shortcut menu or the Bookmark Properties to change the link type.

Mouse

Drag the page/folder from the Retrieval View into the appropriate folder in the Bookmarks View. A WebCD link to the page is created if the URL is marked for retrieval; a Live-Link to the page is created if the URL is marked Do Not Retrieve. Use the Bookmarks shortcut menu or the Bookmark Properties to change the link type.
